The Zoning Board of Appeals is typically a five person board appointed by the Village Board. The Zoning Board of Appeals has original jurisdiction over interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of New Hempstead. The ZBA also hears appeals for variances of area and use. The Board of Appeals must act in strict accordance with the procedure as specified by law and by the Village of New Hempstead Zoning Ordinance.
