Make their Mother’s Day card extra special by giving it a homemade touch. Not everyone is crafty, but these coloring Mother’s Day cards are the perfect alternative to a homemade card.
I remember growing up, I would get out the construction paper, glue, and markers each year to make my mom a homemade Mother’s Day card.
I carried on the tradition with my own kids (okay…well, homemade Father’s Day cards!)
And while as a mom, I love receiving homemade cards from my kids, I know that sometimes time is short and you need to take a few short cuts! Especially if the one helping the kids isn’t too crafty!
If you don’t want to buy a Mother’s Day card, but don’t have time to totally DIY, try these free printable black and white Mother’s Day cards to color.
These cards are black and white, which means they are cheap to print and don’t use any colored ink, but your child can still personalize them by coloring in the designs.
I know Mom will appreciate and love to receive one of these special cards!
These printable cards are so easy to use, all you have to do is print the page, fold them in half, and color!
But here’s a few tips for the best experience with printable Mother’s Day cards:
Print the Mother’s Day cards on cardstock: Regular printer paper won’t be strong enough and has a higher change of getting wrinkled or crushed. Print out your cards on cardstock for more durability. Plus there’s less chance of markers or pens bleeding through the paper when using a thicker paper.
Use a ruler to fold: This is optional, but for the crispest fold, use a ruler or other straight edge. Of course, if you want your child to own the experience of creating the cards for their mom, then go ahead and let them fold however they want!
Use crayons or colored pencils. Markers tend to bleed through, so using pencils or crayons is a better option. Gel pens are another great option, especially for cards with small, intricate designs.
And don’t forget to have your child sign and personalize the cards on the inside for mom!
You are free to use these printable cards for personal or classroom use. Please don’t share the file, but if you’d like to share the Mother’s Day cards with friends, please forward this page to them so that they can download the file themselves. All of the cards are meant to be printed and folded. The designs are on the front of the card only.
This leaves the back and inside for your child to write or draw a personal message for their mother.
They can be printed on 8.5 x 11 inch paper or smaller. You may have to change printer settings to ‘fit to page’ for smaller card sizes.
